- Founder Natalie Chanin, born in Florence, Alabama, founded the company in 2001 after a stint as a stylist in the film industry. Manufacturing is done using women who are expert in handicrafts. Best known for layered T-shirts, patchwork and appliqués, and affordable clothing, the collection was first shown on the runway in New York with the help of the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation. The company formed a partnership with Italian manufacturer Gibo, in 2004.
